CACSA contemporary, 2010, video, kinetics and mixed media assemblage
Kinetic assemblages interact and animate the cavernous space of a disused city emporium while intimating the body imaging and surveillance once enacted there amongst the homewares. The theatre of interior movement is echoed on video screens. Text instruction for a theatre duel is co-opted in relation to investigative x-ray hand images in rotation. The title . . . and this applied to rocks refers to the related concept of geontologies (E A Povinelli) in which the distinction between life and non-life is examined especially in relating the territories of interior body and exterior situation and the power structures that exclusively define them.
